Changelog
Latest features, fixes, and improvements to Geo Climber.
Geo Climber is in active development. We ship updates regularly — new features, gameplay improvements, bug fixes, and fresh zone art. Follow along here or join our Discord community to get notified as changes land.
Energy makes each climb count. Gems scattered across the platforms force the risk-reward call mid-run. The new store lets you convert what you find into gear upgrades that get you higher next time.
Replays now play back identically across devices regardless of screen size, work correctly with powerups, hide the on-screen controls while watching, and show a proper end-of-replay screen when the run finishes.
Every menu and panel got a fresh frosted-glass look with subtle blur, glow effects, and smoother animations throughout the game.
Buy and use powerups mid-run, check your inbox for rewards, and enjoy a smoother coin economy. Plus motion blur, gyroscope controls, and GDPR consent.
Watch ads for a free revive or to double your coin reward. New about and contact pages on the website. Under the hood: a full architecture overhaul with event-driven game state management, 11 automated UI tests, and server-side ad verification.
Coin rewards now scale more gradually at higher floors, and you earn bonus coins when hitting milestone floors (50, 100, 200, 300, 500). Short runs feel a bit more rewarding, long runs earn less than before. Revive price stays at 50 coins.
A new feedback survey pops up after a few runs. Share what works, what does not, and what you want to see next. You can always send feedback from Settings too.
Tuned surface positioning across all 24 levels so your character lands naturally on every platform — no more floating or clipping.
First-time players now get a quick 6-card guide covering the journey, controls, combos, coins, and game modes — so you can jump right in without guessing. Pick your control mode (joystick or gyro) right from the guide. Replay it anytime from Settings → How to Play.
We added server-side error monitoring so crashes and issues are caught automatically — no more relying on WhatsApp reports to know something is broken.
You can now watch replays of top leaderboard runs and your own past games — tap the play button on any run that has replay data.
See how you rank among friends! The leaderboard now has Friends and Global tabs — switch between them alongside Score and Floor. If you have friends, it defaults to the Friends view. No friends yet? The board will nudge you to add some.
Add friends, view profiles with stats and recent runs, pick from 12 unique avatars, and link your Apple or Google account. Share your friend code or invite link to connect with other climbers.
We're publishing a behind-the-scenes blog series on how Geo Climber is built. The website has a fresh new look to go with it — mobile-first design, gameplay video, and streamlined pages.
The climb from Earth's core to Everest's summit now ramps up more gradually — tricky short platforms appear less often in early zones, and transitions between geological layers feel natural instead of sudden.
The Geo Climber website now tells the full story — meet Inge and the scientists who inspired the game, explore all 13 geological zones from Earth's inner core to Everest's death zone, and learn what makes the game tick. Oh, and it's free to play with no ads.
Tap the replay icon on the Game Over screen to watch your entire run play back exactly as it happened — every jump, combo, and revive.
A new display at the bottom of the screen shows your current zone and exact altitude — from 6,371 km below Earth's surface all the way up to Everest's summit at 8,849 m. Your altitude reached is also shown on the game over screen.
Your climber Inge now cheers you on as you play — calling out combos in English or Finnish, grunting on jumps, and reacting to milestones, close calls, and game-overs. Combo text on screen also got a fresh look with dynamic styled text that escalates in intensity as your streak grows.
The geoclimber.app website now shows up correctly in Google, social sharing previews look great, and AI search engines can index the site properly. We fixed the zone count (12 → 13), added a 1200×630 share image, and improved meta descriptions across all pages.
Logo and preview images were not loading correctly on the website. These are now served reliably, and the canonical URL is correctly set for search engines.
The app now monitors for crashes and performance issues so we can fix problems faster. We have also added a privacy policy link on the main screen.
Easy mode now spawns larger, more forgiving platforms so new players can focus on learning the game. Hard mode is unchanged.
A swipeable carousel on the start screen lets you choose your planet. Earth is pre-selected with a glowing teal highlight, with TRAPPIST-1e teased as coming soon.
Your score now animates smoothly upward during gameplay, making every jump and combo feel more satisfying.
After a run, the game over screen now shows badges for personal bests — new high score, highest floor reached, and top combo tiers.
A quick age check appears the first time you open the app. Your answer is saved — you will not be asked again.
When you die, you now have a brief window to spend coins and keep climbing. Tap the coin button to revive and pick up right where you left off with a 3-2-1 countdown. One revive per run.
Squashed a wave of post-launch bugs: purchases now work reliably, stat card values match the leaderboard, and the app no longer crashes on update for existing players.

The game has a brand new look: all 12 geological zones have original art, the main menu is redesigned with the Geo Climber identity, and the journey now shows Everest at the top and the Inner Core at the bottom.
Each geological zone now has two distinct visual variants, doubling the variety of environments you climb through.

Coin earnings per run have been rebalanced — rewards scale more gradually as you reach deeper floors.
The joystick now appears wherever you place your thumb — no more reaching for a fixed spot on screen.
Choose Ranked or Casual before each run. Ranked runs count toward the global leaderboard — compete for the highest score and floor reached.

Geo Climber is available for early beta testing on TestFlight — climb from the Earth's core to the summit of Everest.
Your coin balance is now visible in the main menu and persists between sessions, even without a network connection.
Your personal bests — highest score and furthest floor — are now shown on the main menu.
Your run results and progress sync reliably to the server even when connectivity is spotty — no lost runs.
Fixed floor number labels on platforms, combo particles getting stuck on screen, the Hurry Up banner not dismissing, game-over panel flashing old data, pause panel jumping into place, and character movement ghosting from the previous run.
The settings screen, pause panel, and game-over screen all have new metallic graphics and polished layouts.
Chain jumps now trigger animated coin and reward graphics. When the timer gets tight, a Hurry Up banner flashes to keep you on your toes.
Scores are now displayed with proper number formatting — large scores are easier to read at a glance.
The game now runs on a fully native Swift engine with a Metal-powered renderer — smoother performance and sharper visuals on all iPhones.
A subtle fade-to-black at the bottom of the screen creates a sense of depth as you climb away from the darkness below.
Difficulty curves and zone behavior are now tuned through config files, enabling faster balance updates without app updates.
