Twikkel B.V. ("we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in the Netherlands, operates Geo Climber (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use the App and any related services, including our website at geoclimber.app.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information — when you create an account or sign in using a third-party service (such as Apple, Google, Facebook, or other social login providers), we may receive your name, email address, profile picture, age or date of birth, and a unique identifier from that service.
- Profile information — display name, avatar, and any other information you choose to add to your in-game profile.
- Communications — if you contact us for support, sign up for beta testing, participate in surveys, or interact with us via social media, we collect the information you provide.
- User-generated content — any content you create, share, or submit through social or community features within the App.
Information collected automatically
- Gameplay data — scores, floors reached, levels attempted, run history, combo statistics, difficulty settings, session duration, in-game progress, achievements, and other gameplay metrics.
- Economy data — in-game currency balances, transaction history, purchase records (both virtual and real currency), inventory, consumption habits, and reward earnings.
- Social data — friends lists, social connections, shared content, leaderboard participation, and interactions with other players.
- Device and technical data — device type, operating system version, app version, IP address, device identifiers, general location based on IP address (city or country level), crash logs, and general usage patterns.
- Identifiers — Game Center ID, device identifiers, and advertising identifiers (only with your consent where required by law). You may reset your advertising identifier through your device settings at any time.
- Friend codes — a short alphanumeric code unique to your account, used to add friends and share invite links.
- Deferred deep link data — when you open an invite link on the web, we temporarily store a hash of your IP address and browser information for up to 24 hours to connect you with the friend who invited you after you install the app. This data is automatically deleted after 24 hours or after it is used.
Information from third parties
- Social login providers — when you sign in with a third-party account (such as Apple, Google, or Facebook), we receive basic profile information including name, email, profile picture, and age range. When you sign in with Google specifically, we receive your name, email address, profile photo URL, and locale from Google. We do not control how these platforms handle your data — please review their privacy policies.
- Payment processors — Apple and other payment providers may share transaction confirmation data with us to validate in-app purchases. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
- Game Center — leaderboard data, friend connections, and player identifiers.
- Advertising partners — our advertising partners may provide us with information about your interactions with ads served in connection with the App.
We do not request or intend to collect any special categories of information such as health, race, religion, political opinions, sexual preferences, or orientation.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features
- Process in-app purchases and manage your in-game economy
- Enable social features such as leaderboards, friend connections, content sharing, and player interactions
- Personalize your experience and deliver relevant in-game content and offers
- Provide advertisements to you, both in the App and via related platforms (see Advertising section below)
- Send you updates, promotional materials, and notifications (you can opt out at any time)
- Detect and prevent fraud, cheating, toxic behavior, and abuse
- Monitor display names and community interactions to enforce our community standards
- Analyze usage trends and perform analytics to improve gameplay and performance
- Respond to support requests and communicate with you
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Advertising
The App may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising partners. To deliver relevant ads, we and our advertising partners may use your advertising identifier, IP address, general location, and information about your interactions with the App.
Users aged 16 and over: You may be shown personalized (targeted) advertising based on your interests and activity, with your consent where required by law. You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time through the App's privacy settings or by adjusting your device's advertising settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking).
Users under 16: We do not serve personalized or targeted advertising to users under 16. These users will only see contextual advertising that is not based on personal data or user profiling.
Where you opt out of targeted advertising, you will still see ads in the App, but those ads will not be personalized to you.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information in the traditional sense. However, sharing certain identifiers with advertising partners may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" under some US state privacy laws — see Section 10 for details and your opt-out rights. We may share information with:
- Other players — your display name, avatar, scores, and other profile information may be visible to other players through leaderboards, social features, and shared content.
- Service providers — third parties that help us operate the App, including hosting, analytics, customer support, payment processing, and fraud prevention.
- Advertising partners — advertising identifiers, IP addresses, and interaction data to serve and measure ads. Our advertising partners may combine this information with data they have collected about you elsewhere.
- Analytics providers — aggregated and device-level usage data to help us understand how players use the App and improve the experience.
- Social platforms — when you choose to share content or connect your account with social media services such as Facebook or Game Center. We do not control how you interact with these platforms.
- Legal requirements — when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Safety and enforcement — to protect the rights, property, or safety of Twikkel B.V., our players, or others, and to enforce our terms and policies.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
5. In-App Purchases
The App may offer in-app purchases for virtual currency, virtual items, cosmetics, or other digital content. All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store or other authorized payment processors. Payment information is collected and handled by these third-party processors — we do not receive or store your credit card or payment details. All purchases are subject to the applicable store's terms and refund policies. Virtual currency and virtual items have no real-world monetary value. Parents and guardians can disable in-app purchases through device settings.
6. Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13 (or a higher age where required by local law), and we do not knowingly direct targeted or interest-based advertising to children under 13.
Where age-gating or age verification is implemented, users identified as under 13 will not have personal information collected beyond what is strictly necessary to provide the App's core functionality. These users will only see contextual advertising, and no profiling or geolocation tracking will be performed.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@geoclimber.app and we will promptly delete that information.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as we have a legitimate business reason to do so, including to provide the App's services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When we no longer have an ongoing legitimate business need to process your information, we will either delete or anonymize it. Retention periods vary by the type of information and the context in which it was collected.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction or update of inaccurate information
- Request deletion or erasure of your personal information
- Object to or restrict the processing of your data
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

10. Your US State Privacy Rights
If you are a resident of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or another US state with applicable privacy legislation, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to know — you may request, up to twice in a 12-month period, that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to delete — you may request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to correct — you may request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out — you may opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for targeted advertising purposes. When we share advertising identifiers and interaction data with advertising partners, this may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" under certain state laws. You can opt out through the App's privacy settings.
- Right to limit — you may limit the use of sensitive personal information, if applicable.
- Right to appeal — if we decline your request, you may appeal our decision by contacting us.
- Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
California residents under 16: We do not sell or share personal information of users we know to be under 16 without affirmative opt-in consent (from a parent/guardian for users under 13, or from the user for ages 13–15).

11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States and the Netherlands. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure your information is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App or on our website with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
