Geo Climber is a free vertical-climber arcade game for iPhone and iPad. You play as Inge, a young explorer named after Danish seismologist Inge Lehmann, climbing from the center of the Earth through 13 real geological zones to the summit of Everest. The game combines fast-paced platforming with real Earth science — each zone is based on an actual geological layer with unique art, platforms, and music.
Use the on-screen joystick to move left and right, and tap the jump button to leap between platforms. A chase camera rises from below — if it catches you, the run ends. Keep climbing to reach higher floors and chain combos for bonus rewards. The controls are simple to learn but reward precision: experienced players can chain long combo streaks and reach hundreds of floors per run.
Landing consecutive jumps on platforms without missing builds your combo streak. There are six reward tiers: Good, Sweet, Great, Wow, Insane, and the legendary No Way. Each tier multiplies your coin earnings for that run. Combos also trigger visual particle effects and audio cues that intensify as your streak grows. Breaking a combo resets your streak to zero, so precision matters.
Coins are earned based on three factors: floors climbed, your difficulty setting, and your combo multiplier. On medium difficulty, reaching floor 50 earns approximately 1 coin, floor 100 earns about 5 coins, and floor 500 can yield around 100 coins. On hard difficulty with a strong combo streak, floor 500 can earn around 135 coins. Coins are used to unlock new characters — all earnable through gameplay, with no option to purchase them.
Geo Climber has three difficulty modes. Easy gives a slower chase camera with a 0.5x coin multiplier — recommended for learning the controls and exploring the zones. Medium is the standard experience at 1x, balancing challenge and reward. Hard has a noticeably faster chase camera with a 1.3x multiplier, designed for experienced players who want bigger coin earnings and a tougher climb. All three modes are available in both ranked and casual play.
Only ranked runs count toward leaderboards. Your best score and highest floor reached from ranked runs are displayed on both the in-game leaderboard and Apple Game Center. You can see how you stack up against friends who also play Geo Climber, or compete for a spot on the global leaderboard. Casual runs let you practice without affecting your ranking.
Yes. Geo Climber is completely free to play with zero advertisements — no banner ads, no forced video ads, no pop-ups. The game has no pay-to-win mechanics. All characters and unlockables are earned through gameplay. The leaderboards are a level playing field for every player.
Geo Climber requires iOS 17.0 or later. It runs on iPhone and iPad. The game is built with a native Metal renderer for smooth 60fps performance. If the game is lagging or crashing, try closing and reopening the app, or reach out to us via email or Discord.
Game Center is used for leaderboards and comparing scores with friends. You can play Geo Climber without it — the game works fully offline. However, leaderboard features and friend score comparisons require a Game Center account signed in on your device.
